This probe is used with the hand-held IRJ insulated rial joint tester that is designed for non-intrusive testing of IRJs.
 
This electrical test equipment has been approved for use on Network Rail Infrastructure (certificate no. PA05/391)
.
 
The point shaft is sprung loaded to enable the engineer to get good contact with the device under test.
